Whangarei Heads Arts Trail
Easter Weekend 2013
30th & 31st March, 10am to 5pm
Yes, the Arts Trail is happening again!
Following the success and acclaim of this year’s Whangarei Heads Arts Trail, Easter 2013 is shaping up to be even bigger and better.
Discover the stunning Whangarei Heads peninsula as more than 30+ talented painters, potters, sculptors, jewelers, printmakers and more open their studios and display a huge variety of work. The trail is open for two days only (Saturday March 30th & Sunday March 31st, 10am to 5pm). Click here to see a list of the artists taking part.
Maps are available at information points at Waikaraka (at the harbour side car park) and the Whangarei Heads School on the Arts Trail days, and local cafes, Parua Bay Tavern and art outlets.
Entry to the Arts Trail locations is free. There is a five dollar charge for the Visitors guide which includes a raffle entry for a stunning glass art work by Keith Mahy.
The Trail will start just beyond Onerahi and extend throughout the Whangarei Heads including Parua Bay, Owhiwa, McLeods Bay, Taurikura and Urquharts Bay.
While you are out and about, why not visit stunning Ocean Beach or stretch your legs with a 10 minute walk to secluded Smuggler’s Cove. White sands and blue seas set against the dramatic backdrop of Mt Manaia and Bream Head. No wonder local artists are so inspired!
Great food at the tavern, local cafes and specialty sites will keep you fuelled and refreshed as you explore.
Two days only. Don’t miss it! Make sure you put it in your diary now.
